Founded in 1815, the Doulton name has long been synonymous with quality tableware and giftware produced in china, pottery, stoneware and earthenware. The product name was changed to Royal Doulton in 1902, and a series of acquisitions and mergers has resulted in the brand now incorporating such names as Minton, Royal Crown Derby, Royal Albert, Paragon and Ridgway.
Besides the Royal Doulton tableware sold in good quality china shops and department stores worldwide, the company have also produced special ranges for hotels, airlines and the catering trade, as well as accepting commissions for individual sets. No matter where you go in the world, you are unlikely to be far from a set of Royal Doulton tableware, or an attractive piece of Royal Doulton decorative ware. Three Royal Doulton bone china plates even had an "out of this world" experience, when they went into space and circled the earth ninety two times in the space shuttle "Discovery".
Through this page we will display photographs of the many different discontinued Royal Doulton tableware, decorative and giftware designs. This will be an ongoing process and we will continue to add to the gallery as often as time allows. If you are seeking a range that is not in our gallery, do not worry, the likelihood is that we may well have it in stock anyway, but have not had time to photograph is and enter it on the web site.
We hope that this gallery will serve as a useful point of reference for those people trying to identify their retired sets and pieces.
